Meet Dr. Matthew Comiskey, DDS
Dr. Matthew Comiskey is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He attended West Virginia University for his undergraduate and doctorate studies. He subsequently served three years in the Navy as a dental officer and proudly served on the USS Oak Hill during Operation Enduring Freedom. After his military service, Dr. Comiskey returned to WVU and completed five additional years of surgical training in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Comiskey is trained in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery including: dental extractions and removal of wisdom teeth, management of dental infections, dental rehabilitation utilizing bone grafting and placement of dental implants, surgical and non-surgical management of oral pathology, surgical treatment of facial trauma, and outpatient IV sedation and general anesthesia. He maintains hospital privileges at Presbyterian Hospital and Carolinas Medical Center- Northeast.
Dr. Comiskey is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Comiskey lives in Davidson, NC with his wife, Katie, and their four children, Stella, Camden, Scarlett, and Cade.
Meet Dr. Darriel cannon, DDS
Dr. Darriel Cannon is an Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. After receiving his DDS, Dr. Cannon completed his Oral & Maxillofacial surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center serving Los Angeles, California. During residency, Dr. Cannon received extensive training at Harbor-UCLA’s Pediatric Craniofacial Disorder Clinic treating children who are medically compromised and/or have special needs.
Dr. Cannon is trained in all aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. His scope of practice includes dental extractions and wisdom teeth removal, outpatient IV sedation, oral pathology, orthognathic surgery, and maxillofacial trauma. Dr. Cannon’s clinical interests include minimally invasive and surgical treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders and full mouth rehabilitation with implant-supported restorations.
Beyond his practice, Dr. Cannon enjoys spending time with family, mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and soccer. Dr. Cannon is conversationally proficient in Spanish and loves exploring new cultures through language, travel, and cuisine.
